Classes & Workshops

And even more kudos from our latest Spokane workshop

Thanks to everyone who wrote us about the Spokane workshop!

Hi Hallie,

Thanks so, so much to you and Glenn for the acting for camera workshop I attended this month. I had such an amazing time.

Here's my blog post about it: http://actressbackstage.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-am-blessed.html

Thank you both a million times.

Yours,
Erin

And another note:

Dear Glenn & Hallie,

It was great to see you both again. The new concepts we worked on (especially the shot inside the car) was extremely helpful in learning how to setup those kinds of scenes.

Thank you for coaching us. Your training and encouragement are always indispensable.

Another successful workshop in Spokane!

We received a very nice note from Nichole, one of our students in the recent workshops we hosted in Spokane, Washington:

I just wanted to thank you and Glenn for coming to Spokane and teaching the classes last week. I learned so much in just two days it's amazing, I tried to absorb all of the advice and information you both gave me and i'm still studying the paperwork/notes I took. I really loved the passion that both you and Glenn have for this. I was excited to go out to LA already but after the class last week I felt really encouraged by you two! Just wanted to say thanks!

Thanks very much for the kind words, Nichole, and we hope to see you again soon!

Summer Film Camp in Spokane, Wash., June 18-29, 2007

Spokanecamp2007Popular actress Hallie Todd, recently featured on ABC’s “Primetime” and in The New York Times Magazine, will host a two-week summer Film Acting Camp for young actors on June 18-29, 2007, at CYT, 6205 East Mansfield in Spokane Valley. Registration is available online at www.inhousemedia.com or by calling (800) 448-9700. The camp will run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Hosted by Hallie Todd (who played “Jo McGuire” on the Disney Channel’s ultra-popular TV series “Lizzie McGuire”) and her husband, actor/writer/director Glenn Withrow, the film acting camp features instruction in improvisation, scene study, monologue work and camera technique.

“Whether your child is a professional actor or simply interested the art of acting, this film acting camp will be a great experience,” says Todd. “The focus of the workshop is threefold: to experience the joy of acting, to make new friends, and to be challenged, at whatever level they are, to do their personal best.” According to Todd, “The life skills that are taught as a natural part of the study of acting are numerous and include: improving critical thinking, physical coordination, public speaking, confidence and overcoming shyness, group problem solving, emotional risk-taking, and understanding and compassion for others.”

In addition to the 60 hours of training, students will receive a high quality, professionally produced demo reel and headshot session to be used either as career marketing tools or as mementoes of their camp experience. Click here for more information or to register now!

Warm Wishes from actor John D'Aquino of Disney Channel's "Cory in the House"

Johns_photo_shoot_440 Actors who want to work know when to ask for help. Classes are great yet finding the right coach is essential. Prior to my network test for Disney Channel's Cory in the House, I went to Hallie Todd to help me shape my audition. Hallie's enthusiastic, interactive approach helped define area's in my performance that previously lacked definition. Together, we shaped a specific, three-dimensional character that could bend in any direction a great director would want to take it. Whether broad or subtle, Hallie helped me keep the essence of my performance grounded in truth. I guess you can say, thanks to Hallie, I eventually won the election!

Thank you, Hallie.  The view from the Oval Office is fantastic!

Sincerely,
John D'Aquino
